Biography

Johnny La Rock is a producer, vocalist, programmer, and multi-instrumentalist from Cleveland, Ohio. His music often draws from from a wide variety of influences, including various forms of electronic music, hip-hop, and pop.

His debut solo full-length, Gold Codes, was released in 2018. It was an homage to '90s Eurodance - it also mixed in elements of rap, moody pop, and industrial music. Since then he has released several singles and EPs, as well as making remixes and guest appearances for other artists.

He has been in several projects throughout the years. In 2015, he made a collaborative instrumental hip-hop/electronic record with FURFACE as JLRFF. From 2007 to 2013, he was the lead singer/producer for the synth-pop/post-rap group, Presque Vu. From 2004-2008, he was 1/2 of the hip-hop duo, Johnny La Rock & Mush Mouth. He founded La Rock Inc. Records in 2003.

In his various incarnations, he has opened for/played with artists like Buck 65, Sage Francis, MC Lars, P.O.S., Fatlip (Pharcyde), The Coup, Phantogram, Subtle, Flobots, MC Frontalot, Z-Trip, Ceschi, Busdriver, Chet Faker, Dub Trio, MC Paul Barman, 2Mex (Visionaries), Spank Rock, and more. He also played the Van's Warped Tour with JLRMM.
